ABOUT OUR TEAM
A little bit more about us .
I am Mexican-American. I don’t play sports and I have a dog. I like the color blue. I have a huge family and we always get together for holidays. I am on my way to high school and am both excited and nervous. I am a shy person when I first meet new people, but after a while, I become more confident.
My name is Glendy. I was born on February 23, 2005. I am 14 years old. I will be entering the 9th grade at Northern High school. I have 1 sibling named Richard, who is 4 years older than me. I really like to experiment with new things. I really enjoy working with animals and cooking, which is why I hope to become a vet or a chef one day . I hope to attend college at UNC-Chapel Hill. I'm a pretty quiet, shy person, but I hope one day I can become confident with who I am.
A young black girl named Konjo Lemons loved to draw. This young lady's visions of the world was so different from others. Konjo knew she had to show people why she did everything so differently, but she didn’t know how to. Her thoughts would always get the best of her, and she never knew how to overcome it. Will she overcome and tell her friends why she is so different from them?
My name is Jeily Abigail Diaz Padilla and I am 15 years-old. My parents are originally from Honduras. I have a twin sister that’s 30 minutes older than me, an older brother that’s 19, and a younger brother that’s 8. I’m a short person and I speak Spanish. I love learning about different people all over the world. I’m also a book worm. Currently, my favorite book is the “Book Thief”. I love baking and all types of music, expect for hard rock, and heavy metal. I consider myself to be a good person.
Fiston Lemons lives in Durham, NC. Everybody looks at her differently, but they don’t know that she has the same story as them. People judge a book by its cover, but what they don’t know is that she wants to become a pastry chef, and a wedding planner. They think just because she looks different, she doesn't have a story, but what they don’t know is: she is about to tell hers.
My name is Christopher Ortiz-Rangel. As you probably guessed by my name, I am Latino. I have lived my whole life in Durham, North Carolina with my family of five, including me, and we are still here. I am fourteen years old and I am the middle child of the family, a younger and older brother. My hobby is sports, especially soccer.
My name is Leyla. I am 14 and about 5’1. I was a premature baby at 2 pounds, four ounces. I recently graduated 8th grade and I am
going to Durham School of The Arts for high school. I enjoy reading and listening to music and am mostly a chill, laid back person, depending on who I am with.
